we make a life by what we give

Ask and ye shall receive!

I loved seeing the new lives my pieces are all living with you. It's warming to know their daily physical place with you, even if I don't have one.

Here's a coppery little number keeping a rainy Portland day away with butternut squash soup.

And two college-era mugs delivering some much needed post-row coffee.

where thou art, that is home

The words of E.D. resonate more strongly now than ever before, as my dinner simmers away in a little kitchen in the dry, sunny, high deserts of New Mexico.

It does not surprise me that with a few unpacked photos, stocked cabinets, and my favorite mugs that this new place feels very much like home. Or perhaps it's due to the fact that I've done my first loads of laundry here.

It makes me wonder about the homes where my pieces have gone -- so, owners of ceramics by Christine, will share a little bit of the new lives these pieces now lead?

Here's a little white and turquoise gal enjoying the sunny light of a South End loft.

devo twin love

Olive and Shino are a good pair. Gorgeous, vibrant on their own, magical when together. And depending on things like who goes first, the temperature, and the other various things that can happen during firing, the results are always different.

But usually not this different. The matching soup mugs were for another great pair. (A&J!) Their Shino over Olive did the great thing I was expecting, allowing me to send these over-sized, green-speckled cups.

Same glazes, different day. Unexpected but amazing results of a darker green with a beautiful teal wash--perfect for the other half of what (I think) is one of the best pairs ever. I may be biased.

Shipping out the season's final snowflake as spring has made its definitive arrival here in Boston...
